The Connecticut AIDS Memorial will be an everlasting tribute to those who have died, and are dying, from AIDS related illnesses. This monument will serve as a reminder of Shawn Lang’s brand of soul force, the force of love, the force of resistance - indicating as we enter the LOB/Capitol grounds that “This is your house!” and as we leave, that we are called to “Go out and change the world.”

On November 13, 2023, a resolution was passed by the Hartford City Council supporting the creation of the CT AIDS Memorial on Hartford City property. With funds already secured from private donors and state bonds funds, along with a $50,000 grant from the Greater Hartford Arts Council, The Shawn Lang Task Force remains dedicated to making this memorial a reality.
